A brand new location with the same great Arthur Murray dance expertise! Opened in May 2017 and located right on Route 206, Arthur Murray Hillsborough is the latest in the Team AMK family. We’re bringing fun, passion, and knowledge to the Hillsborough, New Jersey, area.

No matter your experience level, reason for wanting to learn to dance, or whether you’re dancing alone or with a partner, you can come into Arthur Murray Hillsborough. With engaging teachers and exciting classes, anyone can Walk In, and Dance Out!

And the new Hillsborough studio is already award winning. Dance instructors Laura and Keenan Smout won first place in Arthur Murray’s Professional Rhythm Competition at the Boston Dance-O-Rama on June 3, 2017.

Alexis Martinez (Instructor/New Student Director)

Alexis Martinez (Instructor/New Student Director)Alexis has a background in ballet, tap, and jazz, and has now found her way to the wonderful sparkling world of ballroom. She enjoys watching Netflix, cuddling with her dog, and shopping as her form of cardio. “There’s no day but today” is her quote to live by.

What’s a weird fun fact about you?
“I can talk in a variety of accents, because I’m secretly a spy.”

What’s your favorite thing about working with this team?
“I like how although we have different personalities, we can come together and make anything happen.”

What’s your proudest accomplishment?
“Becoming Salsa Champion in Boston.”

Keenan Smout (Instructor)

Keenan Smout (Instructor)Keenan started dancing at the age of 11 and is frequently reminded by his father that he has had more dance lessons then his 3 sisters combined, so how could he possible need more? He competed as an Amateur in International Latin and American Smooth and placed in many finals across the country, as well as in the U.S. National Dance Sport Competition. As a professional he has competed in the Rising Star Professional International Latin, Open Professional International Latin, Open Professional Show Dance, as well as the Rising Star and Open Professional American Rhythm divisions. He has found a passion for teaching dance, and hopes to share his love with everyone.

What’s a weird fun fact about you?
I decided to become a professional dancer after working as an auto mechanic for two years.

What’s your favorite thing about working with this team?
My favorite thing is how focused everyone is on sharing the benefits of dancing with others.

What’s your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment is instilling in others the love of dance. As I have worked in other studios, having students continue benefiting from dance after I have moved to the next stage of my career.

Laura Smout (Instructor)

Laura Smout (Instructor)Laura started dancing at the age of fifteen after watching the BYU Ballroom Dance Team perform at a local high school. Once she saw the team perform she knew ballroom was her life’s calling and has never looked back. She later became a member of the BYU Ballroom Dance Program and had many opportunities to travel and perform with the company. As an Amateur dancer she competed in the Latin and Ballroom styles. Continuing into her professional career she has competed in the Rising Star and Open divisions of Latin and Rhythm styles placing in finals around the country. Besides her love of competing, Laura’s passion is being able to teach and touch other’s lives with dance.

What’s a weird fun fact about you?
I am a quadruplet.

What’s your favorite thing about working with this team?
My favorite part is that this team is more, they are a family.

What’s your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment is making a difference, no matter how big or small, in someone’s life through dance.
